When the Earth Weeps | The Story of Gelmali

Where mourners in Lorestan, veiled in mud, transform their grief into a sacred art. Performed on the Day of Ashura, this ancient tradition is a raw, haunting expression of love for Imam Hussein, a blending of body and soil, sorrow and devotion. This project captures the visceral beauty of Gelmali: a living poem of remembrance, etched not in ink, but in mud and memory.
